Samsung has just launched the Galaxy A8+, it brings something that people have been hoping for since the last year yes I’m talking about the infinity display which thanks to the A8+ is finally available in a more moderately priced. So let’s take a deep look at it.
This is the Galaxy A8+ it looks pretty good I mean it’s not S8 but it still looks pretty, when I first took it out of the box the first thing that came into my mind was that this looks a lot like the LG G6 and I don’t mind. The A8+ feels a lot more boxy and solid I mean this is same glass aluminum design from the S8 but this just feels heftier in the hand.
A fingerprint scanner on the back through one thing where the A8+ is better than the Samsung Galaxy S8, I mean I love the Galaxy S8 but its fingerprint scanner placement is just so annoying the fingerprint scanner of A+ is located below the camera where my index finger lands perfectly plus the fingerprint scanner is very fast.
I also like the Galaxy A8+ has the headphone jack other than there are a USB C port dual SIM card slots and an additional micro SD cards lot there’s no ‘B’ button which is good or bad depending on whether you like Bixby then there’s the beautiful and huge 6-inch Full HD Plus Super AMOLED display. A8+ display offers the deep blacks and vibrant colors we expect from AMOLED panels also this is an 18.5:9 displays to be exact, So the bezels are narrow the top and bottom bezels are low similar to the S8 but there’s no curve display on the sides which means the side bezels are quite prominent but honestly they don’t really ruin the experience and the display does look pretty good overall I like the A8+. And yeah I almost forgot the A8+ comes with the ip68 certification for water and dust resistance so yes you can take it for a swim.
Talking about the camera the Samsung A8+ has a 16 megapixel F 1.7 camera there are no dual cameras here which kind of makes me sad but surprise the A8+ has dual cameras on the front, yes a 16 Megapixel plus 8 Megapixel F 1.9 dual camera setup with Samsung’s live focus mode which was first introduced with the note 8, like the note 8 the A8+ front cameras also let you adjust the background blur while clicking the photo.
Talking about processor the Galaxy A8+ comes with Samsung’s very own Exynos 78 85 octa-core processor with 6GB RAM the Exynos 78 85 might not be the best but it certainly is a pretty capable processor and thanks to it the A+ comes in Bluetooth 5.0 which is certainly nice to have.
Talking about software Samsung has optimized the software better on the Galaxy A+ because the software is pretty much the same Samsung experienced UI that we first saw on the S8. The A8+ comes with Android 7.1 nougat there’s the Bixby page, Bigsby vision but there’s no Bixby voice which is kind of weird when there are features like Samsung paper always-on display secure folder and a lot more it also has got the face recognition.
Lastly talking about battery the 2500 mAh powers the Galaxy A8+ so the battery life should be decent enough there is also fast charging support which is great overall I find the galaxy A+ pretty capable to take on the competition it’s priced at rupees 32,999 which means it is competing with a much-loved One Plus 5t and from what I can say from my first impressions the Super AMOLED infinity display is beautiful the design is solid and premium and it has the ip68 water and dust resistance.
I would have liked dual cameras on the back there on the front which can be a good thing a bad depending on yourself he came apart from that the A8+ bring some great Samsung exclusive features, we will be testing out the A8+ in the next few days so stay tuned for a more in-depth look at the Galaxy A8+.
